Give Gifts with Meaning

December 11, 2013

Give gifts with meaning.  Here are some of our favorite picks.  These are truly pieces of art and made by master craftsmen and women. The Bandith Bracelet from Loas This sterling silver bracelet is handmade by master craftsman in Loas.  Silver bullion is melted down to form coils which are then crafted into flowers.  The Dok Phikoun flower brings good fortune and protection to the wearer, and the sales support the artisans and school in Laos. Matching earring available.  Watch this video to see how they are made. Bamboo Chenille Infinity Scarves  These chenille scarves are made from luxurious and sustainable organic bamboo. Each of these chenille infinity scarves are made from 100% organic bamboo. They are handwoven by a women’s cooperative in the highlands of Guatemala. These scarves play a large part in the success of a grass roots cooperative that has grown from 15 to 300 members, helping dozens of indigenous families improve their lives. Wooden Saint Statues This wooden statue of San Francisco is one of a kind piece of art. We also have statues for Virgin Doloras and San Juan. Eco-friendly and Fair Trade, these statues are handcarved in Guatemala with intricate details and rich, beautiful colors. These artisans also participate in Guatemala's reforestation efforts, planting 30 trees for every harvested tree. Bethlehem Nativities Our collection of Olive Wood Nativities are handcarved by Bethlehem Bible Artists, a generation of dedicated artists from Bethlehem who continue to spread the same timeless message of the Bible using their arts.  They are considered among the most skilled carvers in the world.  These nativities and ornaments are made from trimming of Bethlehem olive trees, no tree is damaged or destroyed in the process.
